A Special Messenger has just arrived here with a letter from SS Flemming John A Ogden and AW Spim who state that the secessionists have taken possession of Worthington taken down the Stars & Stripes are pressing Union men into Service and that they expect the Rascals at Shinnston tonight cannot you send a force to Worthington Col Ewing is determined to join Genl Rosecrans and leaves in an hour [page 2] so that we have no effective force here and will be obliged to depend upon the citizens of the town to protect Clarksburg.
